Sixth Sense Marketing is delighted to have become a partner of the Community Matters Partnership Project (CMPP) in Rushmoor. CMPP is a self-funded project that enables local businesses to collaborate and support key social issues in Hart and Rushmoor, particularly around youth aspiration.
CMPP encourages organisations that value business, social and community collaboration to be partners. Like-minded organisations and their staff get involved with CMPP initiatives to help raise money for community projects, and volunteer their skills, time, expertise and resources as needed by local people.
Money is raised throughout the year from numerous projects that include, amongst others:
- Twilight Airport Runway Challenge
- Quiz evenings
- Give and get days
- Golf Day
All of the money raised goes into a Youth Aspiration Fund (YAF). When CMPP was founded in 2014, youth unemployment was very high and opportunities limited for young people in an area which is seen by outsiders as being affluent.
Local groups are able to apply for grants from the fund, putting their case for how they will benefit. Partners of CMPP helped to raise over £50,000 for the Youth Aspirations Fund in 2016 and gave out money to over 25 local good cuases. CMPP project partners make a difference in three ways:
- Fundraising for the Youth Aspirations Fund
- Employee volunteering – Give and get days
- Sharing professional skills, expertise and resources
Nick and Tracey Shrimpton said about joining CMPP: “We were introduced to CMPP by an existing partner and were quickly impressed by the work being done and the ambition to do more. We are parents of two teenage children, so the CMPP theme of Youth Aspiration naturally struck a chord with us. Our hope is be an asset communicating the virtues and benefits of CMPP, to really enjoy being a part of the network, and to meet the other members.”
