When Wilcox Day met Ally & Mo!
When Geoff Day from Fleet-based financial planners, Wilcox Day Wealth Management decided he wanted a suite of short films showcasing the practice, he made a great choice in Rob Molloy as his videographer. Geoff and Rob were always likely to work together given they are part of the same Thursday networking group in the town. But collaborations through networking don’t always guarantee success. In this case however, the quality of brief from Geoff, the creativity and videography skills of Rob and a little guidance from yours truly, has led to an exceptional piece of visual work.
Three perspectives, one project brief.
This project has been a great example of how three heads working on a project and following through on the brief has resulted in videos that are strong on brand, beautifully shot, and both relevant and informative to the viewer.
In a regulated industry like financial services, where compliance is rightly of upmost importance, video content must be carefully considered. Shooting video is not a cheap form of marketing – although the results can help stand out from the crowd. A film needs to be specific enough for the message to cut through, without containing factual content that dates, or opinions or views that contravene compliance and/or financial promotions.
The authenticity of the finished films owe much to the quality of the contributions from Wilcox Day clients who agreed to participate in the project as case studies and providers of testimonials. They were Stephen Carson, Stephen Knight and Neil Dudman.
Passing through compliance.
Before the videos can be shared, they did need to pass through compliance for approval, be date stamped, and reviewed every 12 months. But once the content of the videos was reviewed it was clear to all that there was nothing in them that would render them inaccurate or out of date further down the line.
The finished articles.
What Geoff Day has now are three short films:
- About Wilcox Day Wealth Management
- Financial Services for Individuals
- Financial Services for Business Owners.
Furthermore there are a dozen or so shorter ‘FAQ’ films that cover off some of the most common questions asked of financial planners. In summary, this was a project that was a joint effort by Rob and Geoff with occasional (albeit valuable) input from me along the way. What I can’t shake-off is that ‘wow factor’ I felt the first time I saw the finished videos. And that is down to the skill of Rob and his team at Ally & Mo Media.
If you would like an introduction to Rob and to find out more about how his services can help your practice, his details are available here.
